Crystal Palace Eyeing Former AC Milan Star To Bolster Attacking Line

Crystal Palace have had an awful start to the season. They are yet to earn a point or score a goal in the first seven matches of the English Premier League, and already face an uphill battle to avoid relegation. They need something that can lift them, but they also need a proven goalscorer.

With that in mind, Palace are open to several alternatives. And one of them is to sign Alberto Gilardino to solve their goal scoring problems, as the former AC Milan striker is currently a free agent and could join Palace as soon as he signs a deal.

Palace’s manager Roy Hodgson is scouring the free agent market as he looks to add to his attacking options after losing Christian Benteke for the next two months due to a knee injury. And while Gilardino is far from a sure thing since he has never played in the Premier League before, he would represent a cheap, experienced options. And Palace have nothing to lose at this point.

Gilardino is currently without a club after playing for Pescara in the Italian Serie A last season. The 35-year-old came close to complete a move to the Major League Soccer in order to sign with the Montreal Impact, but could not agree to terms with the Canadian franchise.
